    PPT Question

First off, my apologies if this is in the wrong forum but I have a question regarding PPT.

If I am the seller of a firearm, do I need to have proof of purchase (i.e., purchase receipt) to sell my firearm to another person? I have misplaced the receipt from when I bought the firearm and I wonder if its a big deal or not... got me thinking, whats to stop people from stealing guns and selling them? Perhaps they can look up purchase records?

    Thanks in advance guys!

Presumably, sometime during the DROS process someone checks to see if the gun was reported stolen.
If the gun is reported stolen then some guys dressed in black come and whack your pee-pee.
