    Anyone read Shotgun News ?

If you like Shotgun News there's a good yearly subscription deal out there, I kept letting out hints and finally got this for Xmas, 36 issues for $34.95.

Granted most of it is ads, but I enjoy reading them, and there are some pretty decent articles lately. "The No 4 Enfield", Military Rifles of Argentina", "Which was better, Krag, Springfield or Enfield", "ask the Gunsmith", "MMM, Mostly Machine Guns",

It sure beats reading the LA times!!!!!

I grab it once a month, thats all I can read. I think they have over released it, it comes out 3 times a month. If it changed vendors or products enough to support that it would be worth it. I always buy the treasury issues, they combine the best stories en mass. I have found great deals on reloading stuff in there as well.

It is disheartening to see what free America can buy though.

Other than the gunsmithing ongoing series, articles are generally >= to any gun magazines I've seen; the recent spread on Airsoft was a major SGN low point for sure. I've always subscribed for the ads anyway.

I like Gun List too, but it's even more ads & nice if you're looking for something in particular.

True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.

Life's journey is not to arrive safely in a well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "holy schit...what a ride"!!

SGN has and always will be one of my favorite publications to receive in the mail. When you take SGN + the internet, you have very powerful knowledge tools available to you (assuming you weed out the garbage in between).

I love perusing the pages looking for a hidden gem or just keeping an eye on the latest prices. Even though it's 3x a month, I like receiving something that frequently and gives me something to read while sitting around if I'm out somewhere.

I've subscribed for several years now and still enjoy it. The SGN reminds me each time I flip through it's pages that there are in fact, free states. It also keeps me geared for retirement (toys), because I'm getting out of here in 25 more years; damn, did I say 25? Good thing I got my Viper in the meantime! -gloxter
