I am Ukrainian by nationality. Many of my friends are being drafted in the Ukrainian military very soon. Due to such bad economy, they are not issuing them any type of vest, helmets, military gear, etc... Does anyone know of a good company that sells reasonably cheap surplus gear? I am planning to ship the gear straight to Ukraine. Donations will also help. Thank you very much!

No. I never heard of them. Never was in this situation. So that means I can't send any military related items to Ukraine? I guess I can always send money

I know some other Ukrainians who want to help their countrymen in this terrible situation, but you need to understand how the US export laws work. Exporting military hardware incorrectly is a major crime.

Due to the export laws... best I can say is a cooking pot makes a great helmet, and the steel-belted tread of a semi-truck tire cut and thrown over each shoulder with two shorter pieces for a breast-plate and back-plate woven together make a pseudo-flak jacket in a pinch that will stop a good number of things.

just bough a good condition used police vest for $200 shipped. it has type II armor x2 front and back.( slightly bulkier but more protection, it's basically 2 vest in 1)

I believe the they offered a ballistic plate for 50$ more.
