Transporting guns to OR and back

I was planning a to visit family up in OR and was thinking of bringing my rifle and a few pistols with me to target shoot. Should I anticipate any problems or legal issues by law enforcement on my way back into CA at the border?

I just don't want my prized possessions confiscated for any reason on the trip up or back. Also not sure yet exactly where I am shooting and not up to speed on OR gun laws. I know OR is more firearm friendly than CA and I was planning to do some plinking near the Central OR area. I do have cases and locks for all my guns and will be driving an SUV wife and kids in the vehicle.

    Thx!

Just make sure everything is CA legal when you cross the border, I've had to block magazines I purchased before reentering the Republik in the past.

Just keep them locked up in the back and you'll be fine.

Oh, and don't drive like an a-hole.
That's always a good way to get pulled over.

Heck while you're at it stop off at the klamath falls SO and pick up a non-resident CHL.

I also have family up in OR and drive up there into the late/early hours sometimes so its nice to cross the border from CA and be able to protect myself.

Like whats been posted... dont drive like a Richard Cranium and all should be fine.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking of getting some mags, but not worth the risk.

Yep. Oregon cops are traffic Nazi's.

EDIT: IIRC you don't need a CCW to carry a loaded handgun in your vehicle in most of the state.
