    Thinking of an AR-15

Ok I started asking around (local PD)about owning an AR, they say noway, asked about cal legal, they never heard of. Im thinking of building. where in writing can I find it that I can have one, without them confiscating it. And what parts make it Cal legal. I know thats a lot, but never done this before, and dont want to spend money the cops will get.

Search function. There's multiple threads going on this currently.
Check out the OLL assembly guide next to the 'home' button also.
Buy a lower receiver from a dealer and use either a bullet button, prince50, U-15, or monsterman grip to assemble it along with a lower parts kit and pop on an upper.

Actually this is the correct link: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...97#post1165997.

Please take the time to read and study up on what configurations in CA are legal with OLL builds.

Going to the PD asking for legal advise is a bad idea. A lawyer or researching the law is the best way. If we listen to everything the government in CA said we would still think OLL, UOC, online ammo sales would be illegal.

Reason I went to them is I work for a school dist. and last thing I want is to be fired for owning a weapon like that, and If they know up front maybe they will leave me alone, and maybe someday it will come in handy when some punk walks into school with with one and want to take others out.

It isn't entirely their fault though. It would really nice if the DOJ wasn't feeding the police bad information like sending them their "memos" and "revised legislation".

Err...guns at a school? I don't see how you could do that legally or without breaking some sort of school district/campus policy.

Hmmm. Dave, you are not giving me confidence in you. First, it isn't any of the school distrits business what firearms you legally own. Second, why would your gun be on campus unless you want to get arrested or fired? Maybe you are smart enough to park off campus and you plan on running out to your vehicle and come re-engage the shooter. However, if that were the case, then maybe you wouldn't be making comments like the ones above about getting fired for having an AR style firearm, but then having one around campus to take on a punk.

Oh well, it isn't my job to worry about what you do with your guns. It is your jail time. I will get back to my job of explaining to you how legal this is.

                        I personally like my AR15 FAQ. http://www.tenpercentfirearms.com/in...main_page=ar15

If it helps you at all, I teach for the Kern High School District and I am a gun dealer the rest of the time. So I have been selling these from my gun shop, I own a ton of these in my own personal safe, and I am not in the least worried about losing my job over AR15s.

Buy away, but be forewarned, if you plan on keeping this in your vehicle in the staff parking lot, you won't be doing yourself or any of us any favors if you get busted with it. Just accept that the crime statistics for schools are way down, school shoootings are quite rare, and you don't need to be a "gun nut" that gets busted on the news for having an "assault rifle" at school. I mentally prepare my students for resistance and tell them that when the school shooter comes in, we will react. I let them know that if I take a bullet for them, they better not let the guy walk out of the classroom alive. Stab him with pencils, use the fire extinguisher to bash in his skull, kick him in the teeth. Whatever it takes. Because if one of my students takes a bullet for me, I will do that for them.

Or we can comply and all die anyway.
www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.

Not legal to carry such a firearm around here in our truck, just talking crap, kinda tired of all the BS I see kids get away with at school. (tagging, breaking desks and school equipment, climbing on buildings.)
But would still like one to go to a range and just take out my frustrations.

You might want to see a doctor before going to a gun store.
