Removing a bullet button and stuff

My dad move to Vegas. Lucky him. I took the long trip (12 hours) down to help him convert his collection to its rightfull state.
Started on the ak. Meh, no bullet button no pistol grip. Easy fix. He had the grip but no screw. Having a bit of foresight I brought a few things which included an ak grip screw and nut.
Get to the ar. Child's play I tell
You. Really a monkey could do it.
The high point carbine. Well this one took me a bit longer. Found a video on YouTube. Actually found a video on placing an oversized mag release. Got the info I needed to disassemble and took it from there.
Now onto the jr carbine. I've searched the net. Both removing and installing a bullet button. Searched you tube. I'm simply at a loss. I got to the point where I unscrewed the latch but the other side won't come out. Are they pressed in or what? Also, are they the same standard mag release buttons as an ar15?

Ps. Took the kids with me. They shot a full auto Uzi. Way stoked. It was their first. They did amazing.

Some shops use Loctite when they install a bullet button. If they used the red kind you may have to cut it out if you can't get it hot enough to break down.

The JR magazine release cover is pressed in; at least it appears to be on the CA compliant magwell that I have on hand. JR offers a replacement magwell with a standard magazine release, which is what I installed instead of trying to machine out the pressed in cover. The CA compliant magwell is now in a bag with the rest of the Californication parts in my junkbox.

I don't know if the release button is exactly the same as an AR, although it does appear to be very similar.

I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

been in AZ three week and the only thing i've done is remove the BB off my papM92 AK pistol, replace the grip on one featureless AR buy some more AK 30 rounders.

Besides not needing a hammerhead grip, not much will change.

Although i do need to put a mag release on my hipoint, i forgot all about that till i read your post.

Got a link for that hipoint youtube video?

Gah. Did anyone else find this very difficult to read?

Congrats on your dad's escape to free America. May he enjoy his liberty.
