        Enterprise Arms

Scroll to the middle... Not as cheap as what you stated, but pretty close.

Yeah i use Enterprise Arms, they are the best IMO how they have treated me. They charge $40 + Dros if its a handgun $35 + Dros for Rifle.

I have used them 2 times, i would recommend them before Metroshot or Ades, Irwindale is not too far from the valley.

I think there is someone that does them for $25 plus dros in Huntington Beach. Also many others similar to or cheaper than Ades fee with a much shorter wait generally. Whos the highest out of curiosity? I assume Fowlers/Stockade or Turners.

Well I guess you have to factor cost of gas in as well, but Uncle Pauls in Ventura is $70 OTD. They have been good to me. Nice guys and I like supporting OLL friendly shops.

if you don't mind driving to Huntington Beach Jim Bowen of AKI http://www.firearms-training.info/ will do it for $50 OTD . hes a very nice guy to deal with. i had my Glock transfered through him from an online dealer and he was happy to do it. his main business is not selling guns but training security guards he just has a FFL to sell guns to the students that need them. so hes not a jerk about doing dealer transfers. tell him Kenneth sent you he'll treat you right oh on a side note he does NOT do OLL.

The price you mention was like for 20 years ago.

Now you can hardly find $50 for the low cost guy.

Price is actually pushing up to $80 now for a lot of FFL's who are willing to do this and not charge an arm and a leg.

Considering the time and effort and paperwork and storing at their business for all that time and so on and so on I would have to say $60 to $80 is probably fair for what probably is close to one full hour of the FFL's time from at first mailing his FFL to the other guy, getting the item shipped, signing for it and putting it away, having you come into the shop and taking his time filling out paper work and collecting money from you then putting the firearm in storage and keeping it safe/secure, then having you come back and he has to get it out of storage and you do more paperwork and so on.

.....and this is if you do all the work like paying for the item directly, arranging shipping, etc. If not expect to pay more.

Now the PPT DROS is different because that is a state law as a condition of being granted the privilege to sell firearms in this state. If it is the law and by exercising the optional privilege by having an FFL in this state then they must follow the law and do it at below cost. This is common in a lot of businesses that must offer services like restrooms, pollution control, handicap ramps, etc that cost money but don't help the business make money and thus done at a business loss.

Please do not consider that mandated community service condition of running a business with that which is not mandated by law where you can not expect a business to do so and loose money doing so.
