    Amazon'd!

Ordered a V-Line Top Draw pistol box through Amazon Warehouse Deals last week. Thought to myself that I was getting a great deal: Discounted price and free shipping, for an item that had been previously returned.

Received it today, complete with a manual with instructions including, but not limited to, the procedure for opening it using the stock combination! Nifty!

Attempted to open it... about 50 times. I have to assume that the whoever returned it did so because they reset the combo and then promptly forgot it, and whoever received it over at Amazon never thought to verify that the stock combo on the paperwork included with it still worked.

Harsh. Good luck on getting it open.

Oh, there's no way to get it open without breaking it or trying to brute force my way through the combo, which I have no intention of wasting my time with. Already called them, and now I've got a return shipping label ready for me to print out.

'Brute force' doesn't have to take that long - see http://www.tech-faq.com/how-to-open-a-simplex-lock.html

And then you could look up 'Simplex locks and magnets' ...

find the YouTube video that shows you how to pick that lock..then ask Amazon and maybe they'll give you a break on the price.

seeimg as now you have to be trained as a locksmith.

and I've got to put this on the list of things not to buy previously used along with,
            hair brushes..underwear...bubble gum..

I guess the name is fitting. Had no clue that they were that easy.

Well, that's good to know. I almost feel like I'd be better off with a box with a couple of these on it...

Just exchange it for another one. Amazon should cover shipping
