    TNVC night vision

Anyone have experience dealing with them? I have heard (read) very good things about them on ar15.com but as thats a national forum I was wondering if Calgunners might have some input that guys in free states wouldn't know about.

I know TNVC is located just a few miles from my dads new house and I am definitely going to pay them a visit in the next few months.

Yes, ordered aftermarket LED headlamp for a Surefire weaponlight from them. I cracked the lens while installing it due to being a caveman, but they were very prompt in sending a replacement at no charge. Their booth at SHOT was awesome, too bad almost none of that stuff is CA legal.

I think the stuff being illegal is only partially true, and mostly FUD. I messaged Vic the other day on ar15.com and he explained CA night vision regulations to me and indicated I could order most of the stuff I was interested in (within my meager price range).

        Great shop

They use to run specials on Glock talk.

They now post some deals on snipers hide.

If you want a turn key set up, they have everything you can think of in their shop.
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
        (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

Just taking a quick glance at the TNVC website, most of their stuff is legal as they aren't making garbage that requires an IR emitter glued to the side to work worth a crap. I actually didn't see anything at a glance that would be illegal to mount to a firearm in CA(except hunting I guess, but that's a separate mess of regulations to deal with).

It seems like people have a ton of legal questions regarding nvgs nv binos and monoculars. May want to list some make/models/setups that are cal legal so we don't get a ton of the repeat posts. These things are technical (I don't have the know how in the night vision/thermal world to do so).

Yes I know about the sticky

Ill post here once I visit.

When speaking to Vic he indicated that they only do in store appointments for LEO/MIL. Im technically still MIL for 2 months after I get to CA, but from what I gathered they still sell to anyone in CA. My guess is the LEO/MIL thing is to discourage tacticool mall ninjas from showing up and not buying stuff.

So then people need to read the sticky thread. Posting every legal make and model would be as pointless as listing every legal OLL. It's actually not as technical as you think it is.

Does it have an IR illuminator? Read the product description.
Does it have magnification? Read the product description.
Can it be mounted on a firearm? Read the product description.

                      Fair enough.

A bunch of friends had a little night fun shoot this last saturday night.

Someone from this group has a wife that works for TNVC.

They allowed us to borrow some gear.

We played with helmet mounted Gen 3 monocular and Gen 3 rifle mounted day time scope intensifier. They also brought a FLIR monocular just to play with.

I couldnt believe the quality/resolution of the helmet mounted monocular. I could see and recognize peoples faces if they were 8+ feet away. Closer, they start to blur. This was about 11:00 pm in the dark with almost no moon light. The resolution was amazing. I believe that particular monocular is on sale right now for about $2,800 if I remember correctly..

I have nothing but fantastic things to say about them for their generosity allowing us to 'play' with their gear.

They only deal with quality USA made products. None of the cheap import junk of questionable reliability.

When I have the cash, I'd be interested in buying from them.

Thanks Victor and Teddy for allowing us to use your equipment. Very cool.

..... and yes... you can mount this stuff on a rifle as long as you dont have an 'illuminator' attached as well.. No, you cant hunt with it.
