    Kydex Holster-ing

    Hi All,

Anyone here into doing there own Kydex-ing?

Doesn't look too complicated (but as with anything, I am sure doing well is a different story)...

Anywho - been thinking of giving it a whirl for a while now.

Anyone with experience, would love to hear from you.

    Any tips/tricks for a novice?

    What works, what doesn't.

    Do you need to vaccum-form?

Different thickness variations and their produced usefulness.

    Rivet tools - cutting etc...

    Thanks!

I made single mag clip ons owb for my lc9 . I carry them daily.

For a pistol, unless you have no other hobbies. .to do it anywhere close to say a crossbreed, too much time and money invested for me to attempt a home build after just making a mag holder.

I have a 2x3 ft sheet ledt. Terrific material, I made a couple other items

kydex is easier to cut with scissors when its warm, its messy if you have to use a dremel/file.
i made a kydex phone holster, didnt like the belt clip so cut it off, and glued on a different clip, 2.5 years later still works.

Don't need a vacuum form. You can press it between some pieces of firm foam padding to get the initial shape, and then fine tune it by working it with a heat gun.
