    Questions on the AWB

Sorry about the newb question but after reading all the bills about AW and AWB I just have a coulpe of question about it. Lets say Obama does become Pres and he does sign off the AWB. What will be banned? Everything? like the lower, upper, butt stock, LPK, sights, etc.. Or is it just the lower? Again sorry for the newb question.. Thanks in advanced

While Obama is a clear enemy of gunrights, there will be no new AWB - both due to lack of votes and DOA given Heller case.

Even if there were the votes, it would be a whole new law so nobody would know the details other than "gun grabbers always want your guns".

My guess would be semi auto, mag fed, rifles. Also semi pistols. That would be lowers and such. M1A's, Mini's things like that.

      Just a guess.

If you believe a new AWB is on the horizon, or that Obama will actually become president!

Pretty much what Bill said. Obama can't make the law, congress has to; and even they do it won't pass the House or Senate, too many pro-gunners Democrats and Republicans. Besides than they still have to worry about Heller. This election is about Supreme Court Appointees. Do you really want another Breyer or Ginsburg? (they were dissenting!)

Let me say something scarier. Imagine if one of the Heller majority Justices suffered a massive heart attack while a President Obama was in office...

Lets say there is a new ban...

(Question 1) Will there be a period which you can register your banned gun? Thus having a legal registered AW?

...and if so, will there be classifications such as

AW Type 1: Evil features + Hi cap mag
AW Type 2: Evil Features + fixed 10 round mag

(Question 2) If you register receivers only. Will there be limitations on how you can complete the rifle?

I see it this way... if I had $1500 to spend right now... I would spend it on 8 AR receivers vs. one complete AR riffle...
That way I can own them when the ban comes, then build them up later....or will a new ban prevent that?

Don't these guys understand the ban creates the demand!

It will probably be like the last ban. That means no registration. Everything will become grandfathered and it will ban manufacture. Think of it like how they offer post-ban uppers. Under Obama, chances are the manufacture of an AR or high cap mags will be banned, anything built before is fair game.
