My order in a derailed train.

I ordered from one of the regular ammo online retail sites.. Order shipped via UPS. Today I used tracking and got the following message: "A train derailment has delayed delivery. We're adjusting plans to deliver your package as quickly as possible." My order is in a derailed train. Bet I'm about to get some crappy ammo.

I had the same thing happen to me one time with an ammo shipment. All it did was delay delivery a few extra days.

"derailment" means delay. They just use derailment so people don't bother them.

Same here, my delivery delayed almost a week, box looked fine.

A train derailment delay doesn't necessarily mean that the train with the UPS packages was derailed. It just means some train on the line was derailed and all of the trains coming behind it are delayed. The other trains can't always go around the derailed train or take side streets to avoid the backup. And "derailed" doesn't usually mean jackknifed train cars lying on their sides on fire. One set of wheels on one train car can come off the tracks and it still counts as a derailment. There are about 10 train derailments per week in the U.S.
