So you won't let someone use one of your hammers even if you're present? After all, it's your hammer and with your flawed logic, you are responsible for what someone else does with it. How about a pencil or pen? Would you be liable for any damages they did with your writing implement?

Folks at my range really enjoy letting the other guy take some shots through their guns. I like having a young kid or old vet shoot the 1919 but with the cost of 7.62mm ball it is only 10 rounds per try.

Strangers asking to shoot my guns makes me react strangely!

I was at Oak Tree last Saturday shooting a bunch of my CR and a range master asked if he could shoot the M44 i brought. I said go for it and he shoot a couple of rounds. He enjoyed it and made some funny comments while shooting it.

            Win Win
"In my dream, the world had suffered a terrible disaster. A black haze shut out the sun, and the darkness was alive with the moans and screams of wounded people. Suddenly, a small light glowed. A candle flickered into life, symbol of hope for millions. A single tiny candle, shining in the ugly dark. I laughed and blew it out."

So you're THAT guy at the range...

As long as someone hasn't been acting like an idiot for the past fifteen minutes prior to asking to shoot one of my firearms, I let 'em. Doesn't happen too often though; I don't have anything super sexy.

At a public range, only if they are cool/ professional in how they approach and ask and only if it is something unique.
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

Same for me. I don't have an issue with it if they've been friendly and shown an in interest. If they asked outta the blue that would be a little weird and would get them a "no."

I've done it a few times. Makes me feel good and they are always appreciative.

I usually let them throw a few rounds down range.
Its really the cheapest way to find out you want one of everything.

Yes, great way to meet people and to try out THEIR guns too.

Never been a fan of someone coming up to me and asking if they can shoot one of my guns. Especially if I am shooting the Smith and Wesson 500.

With that said, I usually offer for others to try guns of mine. When I offer, the experience is great.

I just think it is rude to go up to some you don't know and ask if you can shoot their gun.

Yeah, I've offered people to shoot some of my guns after talking for a bit, but just walking up and asking? Great way to end a conversation.

^^THIS^^ I've got a few that are $6 a trigger pull so I tend to decline when people ask but I do offer to polite shooters.
