Spikes lower issues?

I have a Spikes lower with the auto pictogram. I took it to a local range and one of the range masters freaked out when he inspected my rifle. " WTF are you doing with this??" "Your not shooting this here" and "Im a Sheriff and I should lock you up!"

Im with my wife and its not sitting well at this moment.

I would think the first question should have been "Do you have you licence to own this?" or "Does it go FA?"

A senior range master whom Im familiar with walks up after seeing me getting my asss ripped and asked "does it go there?" So Sheriff "Rosco" tried it.... "Nope". The senior RM master then replied "then he's good to go...why don't you go unroll some of them new targets that came in this morning". I kinda laughed then asked him where he patrols.... Rosco reply's "no where I work downtown why?" I told him I wanted to stay out of his area. We all had a laugh about it and it was cool.

Has anyone with a pictogram Spikes had any issues at the ranges and is there any documents regarding legalities on OLL's having FA makings? This incident brought up the question in my mind.

im sure some people will get hassled for it but the markings meen nothing. the lower receiver is machined different on a semi auto and if i remember right will not take all of the full auto parts. if they were able to take all of the auto parts and with those markings i would think spikes would be in a world of hurt with the atf.

It's not just the full auto parts it's also the bolt and carrier are different..

Anyways, that's one of the reasons why i wouldn't get that type of lower.. Don't want the drama.. you know?!

yes, international sign for SHTF

the lower receiver is machined different on a semi auto and if i remember right will not take all of the full auto parts. if they were able to take all of the auto parts and with those markings i would think spikes would be in a world of hurt with the atf.

Not all lowers are machined differently. Some are high shelf [ semi] and some are low shelf [full auto capable] with just the auto sear hole drilled.
Add the appropriate parts and you are assured a trip to the grey bar hotel.

I just colored mine in to be less noticeable

I have a couple, never had a problem anywhere.
