    SINGLE SHOT BS**

If you guys have not heard, SSE's are banned starting next year. Gvnr Brown signed bill SB1964 which restricts SSE handguns for sale. We've been doing SSE's for a while and have never had a "unsafe" handgun returned back to us for any problems. The worst part is, MOST SSE GUNS are even SAFER than California certified guns because they have more safety features and technology behind these guns are usually more advanced than the outdated ROSTERED GUNS. I (Dennis) even have 5 scheduled guns for SSE's for the rest of the year. This is a prime example of why legal gun owners of California lose again...

We think this is BS and we are offering FREE DROS FOR ANY SSE GUN

I hate shops that prey on fear to sell firearms.

Also, there are other ways to legally acquire off roster firearms besides SSE. Finally, my read of SB1964 does not make SSE go away for all handguns. It appears to me to only affect semi auto handguns. There are still some manually operated handguns that I believe can be SSEed next year. Finally, to answer the question of AR pistols, they are probably going to be among the first handguns sold next year under a SSE. The law clearly will still allow any handgun which has never been a semi auto to still be sold as a SS. This is easy for any 07FFL to do. All they need to do is make a SS AR pistol from a virgin lower. That way, it will not be violating the law. Later, of course, the new owner can turn it into a semi auto.

Are lever action pistols like the Henry's mares leg considered single action? And will sb1964 affect me getting one next year? I tried to make sense of the bill but still unsure.

"However, Article 4 (commencing with Section 31900) and Article 5 (commencing with Section 32000) shall apply to a semiautomatic pistol that has been temporarily or permanently altered so that it will not fire in a semiautomatic mode."

I had to re-read it again... says nothing about permanent or temporarily for the bullet button, which if forum debate recollection serves me right, bullet button is considered permanent? or at least fixed...ohwell.
Just slap a non tapped upper. Basically you'll see SSE AR15 "kits" where you swap the uppers after the transfer. Sounds like business as usual if you ask me.

I had a weird wonky idea where the gas port on the barrel went into a half *** compensator, then just take that off and put a gas tube in.
But then again, they might be talking very specific about the bolt, or hammer/trigger mechanism being able to cock itself etc...

After a few days of thinking, It's business as usual. Now, they may construe the law to say since it comes in two pieces the firearm is always semi-automatic regardless because swapping uppers is always temporary.

Single Shot zero round bullet buttoned magazine, charging handle bolt action from birth, sounds okay to go.

Now happy with my muzzelite ruger 10/22 bullpup stock.

A magazine lock has nothing to do with single-shot vs. semiautomatic operation.
