If it's a 38 super all you need the barrel. You can call them directly and buy one from them.

You can go from 38 Super to 9mm, but going from 45 to 9 requires a new slide, barrel, and ejector.

And most likely a competent gunsmith.

OP are you looking for a one way conversion or do you want to swap back and forth?
Do you already have a 1911 in .45? Which one?

I have a Rock Island GI in .45acp. I bought a complete Citadel 9mm slide with mag on eBay.
As Rock Island and Citadel are both made by Armscor the slide fit and functioned without any trouble.
I did have to change the ejector and slide release when switching calibers, but I'm working on that. Oh and magazines of course.

Here's where I'm at now, 9mm functions, ready to retest the Para .45 slide (made too many changes at once), ready to test the 7.62x25 slide, .38 Super almost ready,
the Kimber .22LR no longer functions (it hangs on the new disconnector) and there is a .40S&W and .45 longslide off to the side that need parts.

I'm no expert on 1911's but take my advice, don't do what I'm doing! For me it is about learning and trying something new.

Find a shop that will SSE a 1911 in 9mm that you like.

I have a 1911 MC operator. What is the best conversion kit for this firearm?

OP - best bet would be to keep checking eBay or Gun Broker for a complete 9mm slide. This will save you from having to fit the barrel and bushing, tuning the extractor etc.
You will still have to fit the slide to the frame and you do run the risk of it being loose from the start. You will also need a 9mm ejector, mags and possibly a slide stop.

Next, you could start piecing it together.
Cheap would be a slide like this from Sarco (currently out of stock). Stay away from the Para slides they are not "standard" (unless you have a Para frame).
Other options are Fusion, Caspian, 1911 Store or Brownells and others.

Check out some of the threads like the KTO and Ares group buys to see what is involved and what parts others have used.

I think you are going to find the costs add up quickly, especially when you get to pick and choose each part.
                        I'm kinda diggin that Brazos Lightning Slide from the 1911 Store - that's $400. I've seen a RIA 1911 9mm SSE for $600.

Be realistic, set a budget. Run the numbers, cost out all the parts you would pick vs a trade or buying an SSE and selling your frame.

                        Good Luck!

you need the barrel link and pin too; a new barrel doesn't come with these...plus, 39 super mags will (should) work ok with 9mm (but not the other way around)

9mm works ok in a .38 super magazine(I preferred an actual 9mm mag, but the .38 super ones worked fine on my conversion), recoil spring was just fine, only needed a barrel, barrel link and barrel link pin.

One thing I can say is that it does take a bit of futzing with the barrel link length to get it to work right, I went through 3 before I found one that worked reliably(Wilson combat #1 out of the 5 link set, the shortest), so if you do it buy a set of links, not just one
