    Safe handling example? I think not!

    Look at this guy, especially the beginning and end:


    Seems like he commits a few errors in his 'safe' firearm handling. He's begging to shoot himself through the hand.

    It's an empty gun..? Yea his hand loves the muzzle, but it's not like he's on the trigger or unloading the gun. You don't slap down someones barrel when they look down it cleaning the bore when its field stripped. I usually have the muzzle pointed at my face during reassemble of my guns, especially my 1911 with the barrel nut. But its not loaded nor is my finger on the trigger but the muzzle is definitely not where it would be if it was loaded.

    I see nothing REALLY wrong here. Again not the greatest of safety but nothing irrational either. No need to be an extreme safety sally.

      True.. but never seems like a good idea to cover the muzzle with your hand.

        I agree with both of you. It's about establishing and following good habits. Since there is never any reason to cover the muzzle with your hand, why do it, unloaded or not?
