    Templar Sports Closing the Store

We went to Templar Sports in Los Gatos at 4pm today and learned that they are closing the store permanently.
I liked the store and the team working there. They did some good gunsmithing for me and were very helpful and knowledgeable.

Unfortunate, I've only gone to them for cerakote work but it was a really nice store and was really happy with their work. Guess it makes sense now when I picked up my last project that I was informed they weren't going to be open Saturdays anymore. That's a big day for stores one would think and with their normal schedule already having Sundays closed it didn't make much sense to limit their business so much

After all the BS they went through its a shame they are closing. Did they give a reason as to why? No sales?

I was just thinking the other day I had not heard much about this store lately. Too bad. Maybe it just wasn't the right location. Plenty of other GS's seem to be doing just fine.

That's a shame. I'm sure the city council in LG will be doing their happy dance as the store seemed not to be welcome but those people...what can I say?
Best of luck whatever comes next for the Templar folks.

hard to make a retail living anymore. INTERNET pricing is killing retail. someday the only way you will get something fixed is to ship it to some godless internet place.

              Location seemed less than optimal

Unless you had googled the address you'd never know it existed. Still, the anti gun drones of LG seem to have achieved their goal.

I hope Templar Sports will setup shop in another more 2A friendly town in the Bay Area!

I was there on Tuesday and spoke to the guys; they are closing up the retail store, but are staying in business for gunsmithing and manufacturing.
They said the retail business just never came together and what with the city council of Los Gatos being jackasses, they decided to close up.
A friggin' shame is what it is.

Pretty much. Thing is, it's not like there's a shortage of shops within a "reasonable" drive, and the one time I stopped by(nice shop, staff seemed ok) I was only aware of it because of a thread here, and still managed to drive past it the first time. Even people I know at work who go to gun shops just because they're bored hadn't even heard of the place.

Off the top of my head I can think of 16 shops, not including Big 5, within 30 minutes(templar sports being on the end of that 30 minute drive) of my office(not including the cop shop that apparently only sells to cops from what I've heard). That is a lot of local competition. 2 more shops if I were to extend that to 45 minutes and still not including the peninsula.

It is still a drag losing another gun shop.
The staff there was friendly but the Los Gatos city council is a bunch of douches and Templar didn't have unlimited tax dollars to fight them.

It was overpriced. I remember they wanted $450 for a pistol grip mossberg 500, the same mossberg was $290 or so at target masters.

I'm really disappointed to see them go. Dan was great about all my questions and I got my HSC there. I really tried to spend money there to help keep them open, but in the end they could only manage to get one long gun for me. I really liked the idea of having a LGS in Los Gatos because the antis don't.

Dan or Inez (Ines?) if you're on here PM me.

Stop selling stuff $400 above online prices and people will shop locally. It doesn't make sense for people to pay the higher price.

It's in a terrible location for retail. There's no parking and it's hard to find. I kind of like driving through Los Gatos to look at and then keep driving and leave. Congested streets and nowhere to park anywhere.
