cutting a 1911 slide ???

So I am going to try to cut a full length slide and barrel.
This is my first attempt at this and I am not finding anything about this.

So it has to be possible. My question is has anyone attempted this with success? And does anyone have any pointers??

A few years back I recall there was a commander size slide/barrel set up designed to fit a full size frame.

IMO, not even worth the effort, if you are skillful to do this yourself.
That is why there will be no guide on this.
