    started casting my own bullets

i was in town last week and bought a lee mold for the 9mm 356, ive shot 9mm in my 38 for years and the 125gr mold was the ticket to get started casting again,it was not neerly as bad as i rember it to be? and the lee bullet
lube has got me eager to make more,(so easy) so far i have made 1000,9mm and 400, for the mak, 9x19.the other day to took a few hundred 38s i loaded with the 9mm i cased, they shot great out of the mod 14, m&p 10, mod 13,
i was able to get one hole groups with 25 rounds at 15 and 20 yards and there wasnt a rock safe at the range, iam very eager to try casting some for the 45colt and acp,

well i got the lead for free from my brother(wheel weights) and the mold was 7$ on sale @ the stockade, a old elcetirc pot i dont rember how much it was i got it years ago, a bullet sizer can be abought 10 to 15$ and the lube came with the bullet sizer, all that except for the lead& bullet lube is reusable,i think once you put out for the hard stuff the rest is almost free my tire guy said to stop by and pick up all the wheel weights i can use i still have some real hard lead to add to it if its to soft,i think iam way under 50$ and ihave enoughf lead to make thousands of rounds, as for how hard is it? use to be you had to heat up the lube and use a lubasizer what a piane in the rear that was,the lee lube i got is so simple you just pore it on the bullets then roll the bullets around making sure it gets all over em and the let them dry and thats it, the rest is a pice of cake,i can make 200 and hour or so,using a two cavity mold i havent fired up the 6 & 10 cavity mold yet.

Is the lead a problem in your particular barrel? I've had reload 9mm leave lead in the barrel before. It's a pain to remove.

Hmm I can't quite remember who the CG member was (BigAL maybe?) but some guy here had a recipe for removing lead from the barrel.

If it's lead you want to remove use this recipe.

          50% Distilled white viegar
50% hydrogen peroxide (the diluted kind you get at the pharmacy or wally world)

submerge barrel in this soln for 5-10 min. Rinse under hot water and run a dry patch through bore. You will see a bunch of black crap come out. Bore will be shiney clean. No fancy ultrasonic stuff needed. Let the chemicals do the work for you. You can save the used soln and use it repeatedly. But be sure to store in an airtight container. It's stinky.

He also said to make sure you don't submerge it longer than the recommended time, as it could damage the barrel.

most of the time you only get leading when your pushing them over 1000fps, iam only going abought 850 or so
