the MP-15-22 is plastic... so you have to be careful how you hold it or rest it while firing. You can (as you've found out) push shots several inches off point of aim by leaning on the gun or holding it too tight even. Just rest it, and don't put your weight on it.

Those things are too much fun to shoot... Looks like you were out there awhile!

A shotgun would save you a lot of time reloading magazines. FYI, the NRA 100 yard smallbore target 10 ring is 2 inches across, perfect scores using iron sights are common. Tighten up those groups soldier!

My bad on the lack off proper English on my post. I had not shot for like two months due to getting a new job at a dodge dealer and having to buy a bunch of tools. But yes my **** g groups where not tight.

The different ammo had different characteristics with point of aim point of impact so I had to figure out where to hold. But at the end the last 15 minute round my girlfriend and I had burned through all the other ammo and finally got some consistency on the ammo and I figured out where to hold and I had finally called down and quit jerking and controlled my breathing right. Then she said she was hungry and if we didn't leave I would be the target. I'll keep you guys updated on my progress if you would like.

Now you are talking. I'll be shooting my CMMG carbine 22LR next week. I'm not sure if I'll get out to the 100 yard line but I'd be happy with that (no scope).

If you like the S&W 15-22, try the Sig 522.
Both are very much identical to their center-fire brothers.
I taught my daughter on the 15-22 then handed her an AR and the transition was seamless.
Only now, the .22's stay in the safe since center-fire ammo is a better value and no problem finding it.
