    I got my Unicorn (CZ 75 P-01)

As most of you guys know this gun's been out of stock "mostly" everywhere now, and if it is available the markup was pretty high. With the way supply and demand is now, I have been quoted to $700+ and I've seen them go for about that much on other auction sites.

But late last night I found one on gunbroker which would not come up under search function. Maybe it was the way P-01 was written without the dash? I'm not sure but either way I somehow ended up on the "P01" page through google search, and saw the listing for $600, with the buy it now price of $630.

Heck yeah! I actually thought the seller made a mistake because typically the buy it now price is set way higher than that, but it looks like it's a go this morning.

Is this real life??? (reference to sedated kid/dentist/youtube vid)

Anyways, just wanted to share....and boast a little I guess.

Oh and the wifey does not know of this, but it's not coming out of family fund so it's okaaaaaaaaaaaaay

Have they stopped production of these? I don't understand why they are so hard to find.

      PICS!!!

Based on what I've heard CZ's have become quite popular so its supply and demand.

Always wanted the P-01 Compact, but good luck finding one...much less the DRPK variant...

I really need to raise the prices on my guns. The last P-O1 I sold was $559 shipped to a Calgunner a few weeks ago.

As roger1022 said, just supply & demand...especially in Cali. Local dealer told me, you might see some available end of August. I couldn't wait that long lol.

What makes it worse, sometimes you'll find model 91199 but seller won't ship to California. Model 91199 and 01199 are essentially the same gun, only difference being 14 capacity mag vs 10 capacity mag. I actually got the former, so the seller is shipping without the mag. So in that sense, I guess it's not a killer deal per se, but I'm still very happy about the purchase.

audioiphil2, damn I would have totally bought that from you. That's a steal at that price, especially in Cali.

2 pieces of advice as I just went through the same thing.

                      1. Make sure your FFL is not going to freak out when he sees the 91199. Few FFLs are cool about it since its the same gun, but many will refuse to DROS it and insist on SSEing it. Don't fall for that BS and find a reasonable FFL that will.
                      2. Make sure to have your own 10 round Magazine at the start of your DROS process, otherwise, it will be sitting at the FFL till you provide one since the P-01 is being shipped without any magazines.

                      Congrats.

Thanks for the advice. I knew of #1 so I had it all arranged by my FFL prior to the purchase, but I had no idea about what you said in #2! Time to buy some mags...$igh

Ive shot one with alot of trigger work done and i wasnt impressed because...as the owner put it its picky with ammo...it was a decent gun but i dont see how its a "unicorn" to some...

So freakin' glad I bought one from CGer lwlaml two years back. It has been and continues to be my absolute favorite handgun ever. Will trade it for nothing!

I think you may have the P-01 confused with another gun because I'm yet to hear from an actual owner who thinks this pistol is anything shy of awesome. CZs are known to eat through any amo get through them and "picky" is the furthest thing from the truth hence back to my 1st point.
