Best AR kit deals right now?

Ok, I have some lower receivers coming in, and some bullet button mag releases. Now, who currently has the best deals on complete kits? I can go with generic, as long is it is functional. And I will be building several of these over the next few months, so I would be just as happy with an A2 or A3, and rifle or carbine doesn't matter. I'll be doing both sooner or later. WHo is cheapest? And is the chrome-lined bore worth the extra $50? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks in advance,

There are several in SGN that have them in the $399-510 range. What have you guys heard about those, if anything? I know that I won't be getting a match grade target rifle here. But functional and reasonably accurate would be nice. And do I need to bother with the chrome-lined bore or not?

DPMS has some sweet kits for $350-$400ish but they might require more assembly than the average person can perform. I'd recommend an RRA kit.

I bought one of these for my first AR and couldn't be happier with it (except if it was full auto! )

I'm sure the stags are a bit nicer, not sure if they're $150.00 nicer though, and though I haven't had any issues with my DTI upper I've heard that their customer service is exceptional.

My view is that if you are building multiple rifles, it's better to have 3 built with quality parts, rather than 4 built with el-cheapo, "lowest possible price" kits. YMMV.

Their price seems to be on par with some of the other kits out there. So, does anybody have an opinion on the chrome-lined chamber and bore or not? Does anybody think that it matters?

I fully intend to build some decent quality guns eventually. But I would like to have at least one to play with while I am saving up for the good ones. This first one will simply be to get the ball rolling, and let me learn how to put them together. And have something to plink with afterwards.

Unless your overall goal in life is to build the cheapest most basic AR possible than I suggest you stay away from this whole "kit" deal. You may end up spending a little more money, but you wont end up with an AR that looks like everyone else's because you will have built from various parts that you researched and chose for yourself. Not from some kit that some company put together to make building an AR as quick and cheap as possible. Searching for all the various parts is the part of the build that is the most fun!

Yup. Cheap and basic just about covers it for the first one. I don't care if it is a clone of thousands of others out there. I don't have any ARs yet, so basic is just fine by me.

But why not do it right the first time? You'll save money in the long run.

It's like saying you'd like to lose your virginity to some fat ugly chick. Hey it's just your first time, right?

Of course, maybe some people don't mind settling for that! lol

Chrome lining is a requirement. It aids in barrel life, but more important is that it adds lubricity to the chamber, reducing issues like FTEs.
