Does a marlin model 1893 made in 1897 require dros, if bought from my L.G.S or is it cash and carry since its an antique?

He's not talking about a C&R, he's talking about an "Antique Firearm" which is not the same thing.
As far as I know, you don't need to DROS antique firearms still. Hopefully some other people can confirm that.Comment

C&R doesn't exist in CA anymore? Sure thing, whatever you say boss...
OP, buy the gun and find out?Calguns.net, where everyone responding to your post is a Navy Force Delta Recon 6 Sniperator.Comment

C&R's (which this gun is not, it's an antique) can still be a face to face transaction here in CA without going through an 01 FFL, IF the buyer has both an 03 FFL and a COE.
Antiques are cash and carry, EXCEPT if the seller is an 01 FFL who has entered the gun into his bound book. If so, then he needs to get it off and it has to be DROS'd.
Lot's of good info over in the C&R section here. This thread in particular. Go to the last page where they go over the 2014 rules.

umm, if it was mistakenly entered into his bound book, couldn't the FFL just log it out as a mistaken entry due to Antique status and then cash and carry it just like any non-regulated item in his store?Jack
Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Antique
I don't know the answer to that. Not sure if the FFL can do this. Sounds reasonable to me, but reasonable and CA gun laws rarely intersect. Maybe ask in the C&R section. There are some extremely knowledgeable folks there who can provide a correct answer and even provide the PC to back it up.Comment
