Hey guys,
I'd like to buy a couple old DB shotguns, lever actions, maybe an old 22 gallery pump action ......

I'm not looking for reproductions but I don't want working guns either. I looked on GB but from what I can find I still have to jump through hoops to get em to Ca, and that's if they will ship em here.

Any thoughts other them move to Montana...

Do rifle older then 1898, antiques (I think 1898 is the cutoff date) that don't function have to be drosed as well?

A rifle, shotgun or handgun made in or before 1898 is exempt from both federal and California FFL transfer requirements. So a Colt SAA made on December 31, 1898 is exempt, but one made the next morning is not exempt.
