    FIREClean - my experience

Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with FIREClean or any other product, just sharing my experience due to two or three daily "Which gun oil?" threads.

Ive always seen the gun oil market as largely just "snakeoils", and have always had just fine results with good old Hoppes, Hoppes Elite and even Mobil 1 for my firearm maintenance.

I came up on a good deal for two bottles of FIREClean recently, and it had my attention because I have seen advertisements for every company's game changing lube/cleaner products, but haven't seen anything from FIREClean other than testimonial pictures from independent people or real before and after pics of treatment.

I am not a "white glove" guy when it comes to most of my guns, most of my rifles get a wipe down every 3-500 rounds save for precision style types, but my carry guns and HD weapons are more meticulously cleaned. Here is what I found when applying FIREClean to my 'clean' Glock 20, which hadnt been fired since being cleaned and lubed with Hoppes and Hoppes Elite:

Just applying the FIREClean as directed, on a 'clean' gun after wiping off the old oil as best I could killed these Q-tips, as well as 3 more that werent as bad. This wasn't a full strip either, just the standard areas I clean normally.

I followed this up with a wipe down and re-application the next morning, and the metal almost feels like it was treated like my Micro-slicked BCG in one of my AR's. I will see how well it does in my class this weekend.

    YMMV, JMHO, etc

Been using FireClean for awhile. Don't use anything else other than some bore cleaner. Everyone who runs the action on my ARs always make the comment of how slick it is. Clean up is a breeze, non-toxic, no drying period. Not affiliated as well, just sharing a GTG product.

I switched to FireClean and I'm still evaluating it. So far, so good.
sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.

Funny how these advanced lubes get called snakeoil until you try them.

I never called FIREClean snakeoil because I never saw huge advertising and hype, whereas several other companies have lots of advertising and have been disproven for the most part by independent testing or real world use etc.

Im not 100% sold yet as I havent seen the results of a class or anything, but this stuff definitely looks promising.

                Some data from personal use.

Most adverse conditions - 90F Weather Dry, sand, dust & dirt. 7hours

Multiple training sessions in excess of 500rds per day. No re-lube needed - however I still added two drops to the BCG through port during lunch. Others helped me use up a bottle in one TD since their lubes needed more application even though applied fairly wet. Some had stoppages due to running dry guns. Once applied, no other stoppages witnessed.

                AAR
Clean up fast with paper towels and CAT for bolt clean up. Other agencies ordered FireClean for their unit to test per their good experience.

Larry Vickers has been a proponent of FireClean and is not affiliated as well.

                  LOL

                  IMHO

unless fully auto normal semi auto pistols do not apply enough stress to parts that undue wear is shown, with about any normal lubricant.

Any industrial AW oil will be fine in the right vis to stay put. which to me means a light #0 or #1 grease.

In normal usege about any light oil/grease will be fine just keep gun clean and lubed.

I use a #0 grease to keep the lube on the wear areas oil will NOT stay put.

Keep it clean and lubed and you can use about any quality product.

No need for "specialty" lubes since most are just repaks of induastrial products.

yeah I know a little 40 years formulating industrial and automotive lubes.

Do not get me started on "syn blend motor oils"

Ok rant off, flame suit on

to keep clean crud off the metal you need a film of somthing to be between the crud and gun.

Oils will do this fine but blow off, rub of etc a light grease will leave a thicker longer lasting film.

As such that film we allow carbon and crud to clean off better, I will say tho that some oils with a solventy base if not shot to the point of being dry will help remove crud very well.

I clean my 1911 about every 1K rounds when it get gunked with cast boolit lube.
