Hooray strawman arguments!
Would you care to provide a source that isn't a 50 year old boondoggle? I gave a direct link to current ongoing UN peacekeeping operations, one can take one look at the map and see that, aside from obvious ****holes that nobody is doing a good job in (i.e Syria), these places are relatively peaceful relative to their unfortunate pasts. I'm not saying the UN is perfect, far from it, only that people unfairly criticise it for things that occur where they aren't even operating or where they intentionally have been given RoE's that prevent them from doing most things.
The one that the US controls, funds, administrates, and has a permanent and non-overridable Veto over? That "International Cabal"?
This is amusing considering there are tens of thousands in the US and Canada that fled his regime, and that he was later arrested and charged with human rights violations, along with obscene amounts of money laundering discovered by a bipartisan US senate investigation.
Note they don't say "celebrate".
Regardless of what you think of the Allende government (and it has its fair share of criticisms, I'm not denying that) it was the legally and popularly elected government of Chile, and the Allende government has no such record of "disappearing" people (or throwing them from planes) the way Pinochet does.
Yes, I'm a Californian. I'm on a forum called "Calguns", which advertises itself as "The California Firearms Owner's Home On The Internet". One would assume most people where would be from California.
If your only point is to insult people from CA by painting them all with them with a "zomg ur all marxists!" brush, well, I'm not sure what you're doing here...
I'm not painting all Californians with the broad brush you've painted yourself with ! It is because of folks like you that believe every leftist media outlet that we Californians are where we are . Many educated states reject Marxism and the UN doctrine . They are known as free states .
Lets see, your defending Marxism and their henchmen as in Chile and Cuba . You deny the Chilean people are happy with the overthrow of Marxist Allende. They are as my link clearly shows .
The only question I would respectfully ask of you is, do you believe the United Nations is a potential threat to our gun rights?Comment

I saw this yesterday. My only thought was that if this was intended to be used in America, theres no way they would make it this public. Theyd hire foreigners and move them here with work visas or under some UN bull**** excuse.
I have to agree with the guy who said it looks like theyre actually looking for US combat vets to 'help' in ****holes in Asia and Africa. Cant say I like the UN, but this particular move doesn't strike me as too nefarious.Unless we keep the barbarian virtues, gaining the civilized ones will be of little avail. Oversentimentality, oversoftness, washiness, and mushiness are the great dangers of this age and of this people." Teddy Roosevelt

If I were a "marxist gun grabber" or whatever you want to call it, I probably wouldn't be sitting here next to a safe with a plethora of firearms, posting on a firearms board with frequency, I probably wouldn't spend time taking friends and co-workers to gun ranges to go shooting every couple of weeks, and I probably wouldn't have donated to groups like the FPC to try and defeat CA gun control bills last year.
Lets see, your defending Marxism and their henchmen as in Chile and Cuba .
Where did I say I'm defending Marxism? For that matter, where did I say anything about where I stand on Marxism? I certainly don't remember saying anything about supporting the Communist government in Cuba, only that the US supported the Batista dictatorship before the Castro government came to power.
I pointed out that Allende's government didn't have a record of torture and murder the way Pinochet's government did, whatever else it's other problems and evils (which again, I'm not denying). Is that "defending Marxism"?
I can find a ton of sources on Pinochet's government carrying out executions and torture, can you find me sources on Allende's government carrying out anything of similar extent? Allende tried to railroad the economy and government power to suit his vision, all true, and probably deserved to be removed from power, but he wasn't responsible for the organized murder and torture of thousands and he was a legally elected President, unlike Pinochet.
You deny the Chilean people are happy with the overthrow of Marxist Allende. They are as my link clearly shows .
Here's a Sept 2013 survey on Chileans and their views on Pinochet
(warning, not in English)
Ultimately nearly 75% said he was a Dictator, and over half regarded his dictatorship as a bad thing.
The only question I would respectfully ask of you is, do you believe the United Nations is a potential threat to our gun rights?
As such, if the UN poses a threat to US gun rights, it would do so only as a puppet of the US government, not on its own. It's simply too weak and dependent, by design. When it comes to things that threaten my 2A rights, the UN is very low on that list *because* it's so powerless, and it was made that way on purpose.
Fault the UN on its actual faults, not on tinfoil hat conspiracies or for failings (that the US shares) from half a century ago. That's all I'm really trying to say. There's more than enough actual things it does wrong that don't require people making up new ones.Last edited by Vaktathi; 06-26-2014, 12:17 AM.Solid Gone...Comment

I see where your coming from and your statement in its totality is not inaccurate, in that it takes traitors or dupes in the USA for the UN charter to be effective against us .
Larry Pratt issued the following article and based on reasearch I've done, it is accurate .

If you haven't seen the statue in front of the UN building NYC, here it is. Along with some real brain dead propaganda designed for the very ignorant .

Vaktathi,
From your post,
I pointed out that Allende's government didn't have a record of torture and murder the way Pinochet's government did, whatever else it's other problems and evils (which again, I'm not denying). Is that "defending Marxism"?

"
I serious question the conclusions written above because this information all comes from anti gun, communist/socialist sources such as the NewYork Times and proven media liars !
Here is wikepedia on NYT publishing soviet propaganda as news during the communist purges of Russia ! If they covered for Stalin, they certainly would demonize a man who openly attended mass every day of his life as General Pinochet did .
If its true the person who wants to register, restrict or consficate my firearm is an enemy . It would seem rather self defeating to believe anything an enemy would tell me .Last edited by ja308; 06-27-2014, 4:54 PM.Comment

So what am I missing? Those are posts for jobs working for the UN. Why would we care about the UN disarming rebels off in some third world country.
And why would they be hiring experienced military anywhere except the US. It's got to be a gold mine of experienced exmilitary right now. Unless you hired Taliban mercenaries where would you find more experienced better trained personnel?Comment
