    Cash and carry

Is there any long guns that you dont have to tranfer at a dealer? There is a Mosin I am looking at and the guy is saying it can be cash and carry because gun is 50 yrs old. I have heard different stories about this and dont want to buy the gun illegally. Have to much to lose to risk that. He had the price and C&R after it. I asked what C&R meant since I wasnt clear on it and he said it is cash and carry because of its age. Is this true? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Cash and carry went away on January 1, 2014. All sales now need a backround check. You will need to go to a dealer and do a PPT (private party transfer). The cost is $35.

In a word: nope. Cash and Carry is gone as of Jan '14.

Ok. I knew the new law went into effect on the 1st of Jan. but this guy said it was so old and it doesnt need to be transferred. Thought that was odd for just the age to be a reason. Thanks everyone.

There are some Mosin's that are antiques and would still be cash & carry. But it would have to be made before 1899.
