    You are mistaken.

I believe the OP was referring to the disconnector ! Your correct that every military M14 came equipped with this device to allow the gun to fire full auto .

No civilian has a legally owned m14 rifle that has a disconnector, unless it's registered as an NFA gun.

There are however receivers made with the M14 designation that do not have the disconnector !

Please explain the conditions where a citizen in California could possess an m14 rifle with the military disconnector and it would not be a felony !

Sort of off topic but Clintoon paid to have these wonderful receivers chopped in half by a huge shears !
    Here's a pic

Calgunners will notice A small milling job could have easily made this rifle into a semi auto version only !
Instead this fool destroyed govt property !

What's different about this M14? Can you spot it?
      The 'M14' appears double stamped.

You've ammended your statement, so you knew (or should have known ) it was wrong.

BATFE has also stated "Once full auto, always full auto" so a small machining job might make it semi auto but it won't make it legal to sell as a semi auto.

Some of them were demilled by the Gov, some under contract, they were then sold as scrap.

We used to have them on the submarines in the 70's and 80's. Ithica shotguns, M14s and 1911s. The good old days!
