Looking to get my guns insured

My gun collection has grown and I'm thinking of getting them insured. I'm looking for advice on what company to use, maybe some of you have your guns insured and can lead me in the right direction. My home and vehicles are insured with AAA but I'm not sure there best suited for insuring guns. Thanx in advance

This question gets asked a fair amount and I bet if you type "insurance" in the search function (titles only), you'll get something.

The NRA has a pretty decent offering and I believe you get a couple grand anyway with every membership.

I use CollectInsur. You can google them. They were cheaper than the NRA when I looked a couple years ago.

State Farm also offers a personal articles policy for firearms and such but I believe they...and most regular insurance companies...will want serial numbers and receipts. They're also not exactly cheap. The NRA and CollectInsur do not require this. Or rather, I seem to recall that the NRA only wanted this if your gun was over a certain amount...I think it was $2500.

I use USAA. If you're eligible, they insure for full value and cost plus accessories.

NRA has $2500 in ARMSCARE with every active membership. You can bump it up if you like.

          And +1 on USAA

Besides my NRA coverage that came with membership, I also use State Farm. IIRC, $1.39 per year per $100 in coverage. They require serial numbers but not receipts from my experience. You just declare the values.

            Smart move to insure. HTH.

Ask your insurance if they have "Valuable Personal Property" options. You just add it to your policy for a few extra bucks a month.

Thanks for heads up on CollectInsure! Priced out a quote and it came to about $0.60-$0.66 per year per $100 which is much better than what I've heard from State Farm, Farmers, etc.

FYI, as I was looking more into CollectInsure, I stumbled upon EasternInsurance which is lower at $0.35 per $100.00

Do any cover failures? Like a garand going boom or a squib?

Yup. Great pricing and no BS to deal with (serial numbers, receipts, etc.). I hope I never need to find out how good/bad their claims process is.
