    Good firing ranges in Nevada?

Given the current situation I think it is best to go out of state to test what I can build on my OLL. I would like to test it in its full AR-15 glory, pistol grip and all (of course I will leave it disassembled while in CA, etc.). Does anyone know of any Nevada firing ranges in the vicinity of Lake Tahoe/Reno?

Edit: Location changed after looking at a map.

Take Hwy 50 east out of Carson City. As you head up the hill going out of town, look for a small sign on the right for the dump/landfill. Turn right, then look for another small sign a 100 yards or so in on the right for the firing range. Make another right. It's about another 1/2 mile down the dirt road.

The range has concrete benches and is covered. There are NO targets / target stands or seats/chairs. Bring your own. There is no range office or range master. It's an unregulated range open to the public. It's posted that tracers are no longer allowed.

I'd advise you do NOT go alone since you need to go down range to place targets and it would be best to have someone stay at the firing line to watch your stuff and make sure no one starts shooting while you're down range.

There is a rifle range that has marked lines at 100 / 200 / 300 yards. But you can put stuff on the big hill and shoot out to about 500 yards. There's also a seperate pistol range. They also have 4 "bays" about 75 yards long.

When you want a cease fire you need to just talk to any other shooters and agree to stop shooting and make the line safe. Generally everyone is pretty decent, but there's been a couple times I packed up and left because of people not handling their firearms safely.

I have shot at the landfill range, its pretty big but can get windy sometimes.

Was cold as a witches tit in a brass bra but alot of fun. Id take a holster for a sidearm so when your walking down range you arent weapon less in case of a loon. Saw mostly CA licence plates there.

Washoe Range up near Pyramid Lake. They allow anything there and are real nice people too. There is a long distance range and the normal one. To boot there are spots along the way where people just pull off the road near the river/creek and shoot away with no problems. Just don't go shooting on the reservation that is nearby up at the lake. Heard that they can be very particular about guns there.
