First off........DAMN YOU......I want oneOriginally posted by tophatjonesI already have a 12, what should I get next?
Second aaaaaaa so how many long arms CAN I dros in 1 shot. 2 of every caliber..I grew up an only child and I don't want my guns to live like that.
There are 3 kinds of people in this world.
The wise, learn from the mistakes of others.
The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

Just one?Originally posted by tophatjonesI already have a 12, what should I get next?
You need at least one more to keep it company in the safe so it doesn't get lonely. The only catch is once you do that, they start to bring home friends.
I'd say get another 12 if you have a source. The shipments have been spotty and you could always sell it easily (and probably make a profit here behind enemy lines).
The other stuff could be picked up anytime, but I'd go with the 7.62x39 next.
I've done range time with the .308, but it doesn't float my boat as much as one of my S12's.

7.62x39 of course. Gotta have an "AK" made by the original factory?

7.62x39. Cheap ammo and allows for AK mags with a small mod."Legitimate use of violence can only be that which is required in self-defense." Ron Paul

Were is the general area were you are? I am sure someone can locate a FFL dealer close to your location who will transfer one to you. If all else fails you could try a gun show, its what i did but you may end up spending a bit more."Legitimate use of violence can only be that which is required in self-defense." Ron Paul

I voted for the 7.62x39. After that I think I would go with the 308.sigpicIf you loan someone twenty dollars and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

I live way up north in the Eureka area, and nobody here will touch one. I'm trying a private FFL and hopefully it'll work out.Comment

Buy as many different Saiga's while you can at the cheap prices they are still going for. They are the best value today when it comes to AK's.sigpic

Thanks everyone, for your votes and replies. It seems I should get a x39 before considering any other caliber. The 5.45 could be very interesting as well, since that caliber is cheaper than the others. Qbertquartz2, do you have any more info regarding the release of the 5.45 version? As for my 12, I wasn't just lucky, if it weren't for Fedupwbs, I probably wouldn't have one (or would've had to pay much more $$ than I did).Comment

I read a reply from RAA, that they're trying to get them approved. Someone emailed them about 5.45's and that's what they wrote. If it happens, it will probably be in '09.2024 New Year?s resolution will be no posting..
