    Full range today!

I was at Los Altos Rod and Gun club today and man it was packed! Glad to see so many shooters (with Ars too) out! How full was your range today? Any busier than normal (short) weekends?

Odd to see all the cops converging on the way up/down the range to catch speeders though.

I went out today also but there was no one there.
    Here's my set up:

In the middle of the picture the dark bushes are right next to the target frame at 400 yards.

Here's the first group at 400 yards.

I was there as well @ the 100 yards (non tin can) range. Saw an XM-15 BM AR15. Dont know if it was registered or not but was happy to see several OLL ARs on the range. It sure was packed today!

Ah, couldn't quite make out that last line on the target. Neato.

We were out at Los Altos on Sunday too, early, and it was a beautiful day to go to the range. There weren't that many people at the range in the morning, but by 11:00, the trap range was filled and had a few groups of people waiting. The other ranges didn't have that many people until noon, so that let us take up a few lane... letting me try for group sizes for the Tikka, fix the feeding problem with the Ar, take a friend's M44 out for the first time, etc... productive day all-in-all...

I was there on Saturday zeroing a scope. Seemed busier than I am used to. I didnt see and AR's though. I had brought my OLL build in case I saw some, but I didnt know if they were allowed. I left it in the trunk. I suppose I should have asked. I guess I am still paranoid.

Glad to know OLL's are ok there. Did you notice if they were fixed 10rd or SBR equipped builds?

Mine was a fixed 10 rd mag... I only saw one other AR, it had a detachable mag and pistol grip... didn't bother to ask if it was registered or not.

                      Blennidae,
I had a shooter on the right of me with a fixed mag m4 type OLL (looked like it was attached with a hex screw) and a shooter on the left with an non neutered ar-15 - guess it must have been a registered assault weapon. Down the firing line saw an assortment of fixed mag OLLS... Tin can range was packed!

went to coyote valley sporting clays in the morning and it was packed and when we go there we always go across the freeway in the afternoon to the rifle and pistol range. IT WAS CLOSED. i just picked up my new M1A and was going to let off a few hundred rounds. had to settle for going to markeys and shoot my lower caliber weapons. only a coipe other people there.

                          Thanks

                          Taz & Yute,

Thanks for the follow up. I need to lighten up and just shoot the thing. Knowing others have done it there makes me feel a bit better.

Yeah, I wouldn't sweat it too much. Just make sure you can explain the situation to them in case they haven't been informed and ask. What I did was ask them first if it were ok if the rifle was on the rack and not at the shooting benches during a cease fire, with the mag fixed in...
