Anyone screw up a 1911 80%?

there was one in the market for 550. Funny, I bought one for cheap for the same reason Haven't started it yet

I would start with something cheaper and easier to work with. Get some cheap A2 grips and smooth our the front strap with sand paper. Then get out the file and start practicing. A2 grips are only a couple bucks a piece so you can do a bunch of them before you start working on something that really matters. Hell I'm sure some members here would give you some to play with if you paid the shipping.

These guys sell 80% 1911s maybe the have scrap metal they will sell you if they manufacture the 80s them selfs
