falling Debris / Bulletproof blankets in schools..

The bright orange bulletproof Bodyguard Blanket is geared at protecting kids from danger during school shootings or natural disasters.

I think there was a thread on these some time ago? Anyway, the article seems like a "sign of the times" deal.

fear sells.....ESPECIALLY when it involves children

And my wife told me I was nuts when I mentioned using one if my old vests to line my daughters backpack. At least my method doesn't give the shooter a huge orange target to zero in on. Overall I think its a good idea, just not the best execution.

If I had kids I would seriously consider something like this or a BP backpack

$1,000 * students = cost vs $3000 monthly for an armed guard.

          What a waste of resources

Does it come with a 1/4" AR500 insert? Otherwise, that looks like some nice padding, but sure as hell isn't anything remotely close to "bulletproof".

I suppose this is just more hijacking of people's emotions with fear and asinine emotional/ineffective responses.

This looks like something designed to protect children from debris during an earthquake or tornado. Someone probably mentioned it was strong enough to stop a small caliber bullet in reference to providing protection to debris being hurled around in a high wind, and now it's being promoted as "bullet-proof blankets" for children because of all the mass shootings in schools.

"Isn't that just awful? There's so many mass shootings in schools that children need to wear bulletproof shields to keep from being slaughtered! We have to do something about that!"

I know this isn't your own personal quote and am responding in general.

We can start by getting kids off of all the mind-**** drugs.

I also wonder if this isn't the result of boys not being able to cope with public schools pushing a female-centric learning environment bent squashing masculine traits.
