    .22LR conversion in match barrel

Is it just stupid? Surely if paying that much for it it should be able to take it?

I'm doing A LOT of reading on barrels, rifling types, and everything else for my next match grade build (best of the best-->will post pics!). Still bouncing around 14.5 or 16, etc....?

My first thought was the 5.56-shaped bolt could scratch/damage the chamber, but As long as it's never sent to battery without a .22 round, it wouldn't be "unguided" if you want to think of it that way.

Another was the rifling shape or manufacture method. Could the .22 round damage or wear out a certain type quicker?

This is just speculation as I'm new to shooting other than in the military. Also, if anyone has a resource that is all encompassing to compare/contrast different types of rifling, materials, and other such ballistic effectors that would be awesome. The more I learn the better.

***Anyone forsee a problem shouldering the Sig Arm Brace at the range; Angeles Shooting Range? Or should I just always use a sled if I go the <16" route?

Your biggest problem will be accuracy while shooting .22lr with the rifling twist of your .223/5.56 barrel. .22lr usually uses rifling which is twice as slow

Yeah. The conversion will only be for plinking and training, but it should be a little more accurate I'm guessing.
