Moving to Idaho

I will be moving to Idaho next month and despite all of my google searches and social media stalking, I haven't been able to find a site like calguns. Anybody have any suggestions on where to find an online forum for SW Idaho?

Northwest Firearms is a pretty good community. They generally cover Washington, Oregon and Idaho though. To tell you the truth, I'm pretty sure that Calguns is the biggest community of it's kind. Even after you've left the state, you can stay on here and participate in all of the topics that are important to you (national issues for example) as well as all of the free advice and reviews you can find on here.\

When you get there be sure and send us pictures of all your "scary and evil" toys that you can purchase in a free state.

We don't mess with silly things like gun forums up here.....

I don't know of any idaho-based chat forums. People aren't interested in stuff like that for some reason. I'd like it just for the classifieds section. There's a couple national forums that have state-specific sub forums, but that's about it.

My parents live in Spokane Washington. They get grumpy at me all the time when a package shows up at their house with my name on it haha!

Stick around here. There's lots of great people and info to be had. As far as shooting events up there, just hang out around some of the mom and pop type gun stores and ask around. There is lots of open land up there to shoot in. Where in Idaho are you moving to?

We are moving to Star, a little town in the Treasure Valley about 25 minutes from downtown Boise. I retired a few months ago and we are renting our house out here in Amador County to be sure we can survive the Idaho winter. Have always been told that if you leave Cali coming back can be a pain with real estate.

Mine too hopefully before i retire but I'm not sure. I have a long ways to go. Pay out there isn't that great with my union.

Employment is the major issue keeping us from looking in Idaho, and even Montana. we've started searching for jobs in WA & OR - plans to be in one of those state this Fall!

I've got friends who retired about 3 years ago. They lived in OC and moved to Star too, so far they've not talked about coming back to CA and they said that while the winter can get cold its not unbearable. They've been trying to get me to re-settle there as well, although MO is currently in my cross-hairs on where I'd like to wind up.
