Good Interactions With Cops When Armed

You know most of the cops I run into are good guys. Maybe its just my luck but the best cops I've come into contact with have been Sherriff's Deputies and CHP. Out here in Danville the town cops vary quite a bit. We have some terrific cops and a couple real...well, I'll leave it at that. Pleasanton, same thing.

I was looking at some stuff on the net and I ran into two videos on the Blaze. One was from SoCal before the open carry ban. And the other was in Ohio during the stop of a man with a CCW permit.

Now maybe the cop in SoCal was going out of his way to be nice, in fact too nice, but this example of cops in Ohio is sometimes what we all run into.

These videos are old, but I think they represent the two extremes. And I personally think that cops that act the way the Ohio cops did are why the Police lose public support.

I also include a small article about a lawsuit by Police in Seattle that are suing in order to keep from being restricted from using force. Suing to be able to use excessive force? Yup.

    Good Cop

Here are the two articles from the Seattle times. One about Seattle Police lawsuit to stop new use-of-force rules. The other about the DOJ pushing back to force the new rules into effect.

This situation is the result, IMHO, of over zealous use of force by some police departments. But it seems contradictory that the Feds give money and equipment to Police departments for training in military tactics . And then seem surprised when Police use their new found aggressive techniques.

Compound that with some aggressive support of questionable Police tactics by Police Unions and you have a real mess.

Maybe I've got it wrong but it seems anecdotally that police shootings and aggression are up and in the news.

    Two articles:

Anyway, I just thought some of this stuff was interesting.
sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.
