Thats real and confirmed. Hogzilla. Kid got it after a long chase with a .50 caliber handgun. Took 8 shots to kill. I think they got something like 8-900 lbs of sausage.

As it was explained to me how these "arranged" hunts work, they just feed the animals at the same place every time, then when the hunt happens they drive up to the place they feed 'em, wait for a pig to show up, and shoot it.

Again, just how it was explained to me. Could be wrong.

yeah thats how it usually goes but thats not hunting IMO. thats just killing something to kill it and say you did it. How tough can it be to bait a area for weeks and then go out and wait for a animal to come gt food and shoot it. Holy crap I'm the great white hunter.To me hunting is going out and searching stalking and possibly ambushing your prey. And sometimes its about getting away from work family and people in general. I mean come on you ALREADY have a huge advantage of a rifle, cover and in some cases intelligence. How much more of a advantage do you need?

Did you read the thread at all??? The pig and kill may have been real, but the original photo was photoshopped OR a dramatic forced perspective is used to make the pig look huge.

if that pig was as big as it appears it would weigh 2 tonnes

real hunters take a photo of the animal with the gun resting on the animal to give a scale and to link it to that gun

It's also how they made the hobbits look small in comparison to humans in Lord of the Rings - the hobbits sat farther away from the camera, and handled larger props than the humans. Or if you set a camera on the ground and point it upward, you can make yourself look as tall as a building.

I see two big pigs in that picture, and a third well on his way to becoming one. That father is disgustingly fat, and he isn't doing anything to keep his son from being equally morbidly obese. Shooting a big pig that doesn't know WTF it's doing out in the woods isn't hunting, it's plucking.

I am much more impressed by the guys that hunt the little 120lb boars that will close 40 yards in 2.5 seconds and gore you six times to boot.

of course, the truly manly boar hunt involves a boar spear, some hounds, and a younger brother keen on inheriting all of the family estate.

The pig was raised by some folks down the road from the canned hunt place. He was purchased and relocated less than a week before he expired from muliple gunshot wounds.

His name was Fred.

young pigs are tastier and more tender,although any wild hog i've been around being skinned,dressed etc smells like s**t. guess i'm spoiled by commercial farming. i wouldn't be proud of harvesting from a canned hunt though.

it was a totally canned BS hunt. That pig was raised and sold/given to a farm and the people decided to charge for some a hole kid to shoot it and kill it. I hunt and this is a complete BS hunt IMO. What a bunch of sorry azz loosers. Wow I got to lill a pig that was basically farm raised. Thats about as exciting as taking a s**t

I have always wondered about these "canned" hunts. Its nice to see the perspective of someone who seems to be a true sportsman. That kid will probably feel like a real douche someday.
