I was at one of the WMs in Palmdale Friday morning and spotted CCI Mini Mags on the shelf for $7 and change, one per customer, but was glad to get it.

Don't get between an old fart and some rimfire ammo at wally world.! They'd step on a blind kids throat to get a couple boxes of 22. My wm limits .22 only. Which is fine, I got rid of my .22s because I couldn't see going through so much trouble to find ammo for a plinking toy. The steel cased .223 can go fast but other than that, they always have what I need. 9mm, .45, 7.62x39 for cheap.

Buying ammo at Walmart is a real crapshoot---sometimes they have it---sometimes no---come back in hour and they might have full shelves again…
At least the prices seem to be moderating…

Buy it when you see it!

I've never found a walmart clerk who actually was coherent.....

I was told that walmart in HB was going to stop selling ammo and the shelfs were empty. I went back a day later and they were filled. I think one day I will just make a wally world hop and pick up what I can.

Much of the ammo at Walmart is sold as a "loss leader" item. They want it available for as many customers as possible so that more customers are drawn to the store to buy other items. Limiting the number of boxes per customer and stocking the shelves at random times are two ways of doing this.
Don't think so. Most ammo hunters are there for one purpose only. Well, from what I have observed.

Up until recently my Walmart has put a 3 box limit per day no matter what ammo you get.

Back in the day you could clean them out in 1 purchase if you had the money.
