So I am a new home owner and the FIRST thing I did was for the first time bolt my safe down to the concrete. It was relatively easy after I chose the method to bolt it down. I used 4 3 1/2 wedge anchors and a concrete sealant for the holes. And of course I used a hammer drill, i rented one at the home depot down the street for $40. Military discount their helped out. So to all of you that are thinking about or have never bolted down a safe, don't feel intimidated. It was reletively simple and I am glad it is all done.

Bolt the safe down
This is very good.
Also, it helps to put the safe in such a place where it is difficult to get a sawzall on the side.
The other thing is to make absolutely certain that your tools are either locked up or hidden.Comment

I bolted down my first safe

A masonry bit will not go through those cables easily and the chance of even hitting one is low. If you're really worried you can buy anchors made for a PT slab.

It's too small.
My safe is bolted down inside a closet that was framed around it.
It's also too small.Originally posted by cockedandglockedGetting called a DOJ shill has become a rite of passage around here. I've certainly been called that more than once - I've even seen Kes get called that. I haven't seen Red-O get called that yet, which is very suspicious to me, and means he's probably a DOJ shill.Comment
