    APPS Failed.

    Did the APPS (Armed & Prohibited Persons System) Failed to identify the Santa Barbara Shooter?

    I think this programs is useless, What do you guys think?

      No. From all accounts he was 'armed' but not 'prohibited'.

      This program is used to identify prohibited persons with links to being armed. If you're not prohibited, you're not on this list (barring mistakes).

      Don't like the political robbery of funds from DROS to pay for this and it's overall ineffectiveness but it can not be correlated with these murders.

          How was APPS or anyone else supposed to identify him? RFID chip? Forehead stamp?

          The law is pretty clear-cut about who is prohibited on mental grounds and who is not. They day we start getting ambiguous about it will finally be the day we can kiss our gun rights good-bye for ever.

          Elliott Rodger was not prohibited. Simple as that.

              There was no failure of the APPS system.

              The shooter was not a prohibited person.
              If you build a man a fire, you'll keep him warm for the evening. If you set a man on fire, you'll keep him warm for the rest of his life.
