    Gen4 vs gen3 barrel compatibility

I have been seeing a lot if mixed answers. Solid sources I've found have been storm lake and glockstore.

I'm looking at a ported barrel for a glock 17 gen4. Some companies say it will fit gen3 and gen4. Some places say it fits glock 17 not specifically gen3 or gen4.

Has anyone here experimented with a gen3 barrel in a gen4 pistol. Only things I noticed between barrels has been the lug where the recoil spring sits being at different heights. I don't believe this would affect the gun overall but I want to know if I'm wrong. If I'm wrong, thanks for correcting me. If I'm right, cool. Input I'd greatly appreciated.

IIRC, the only difference is on the barrel lug where the cutout is for the RSA to sit.

Stole this off the net but it shows the differences between the Gen3 and Gen4.

Is it different in any way whatsoever other than the serial number being different? If so I am sure KH is already all over delisting it.
