    Cheap crushed walnut shell

To all the reloaders, I recently found a source for cheap crushed walnut shell.

    Magnolia Bird Farm in Riverside.

    12200 Magnolia Ave
    Riverside, CA 92503

25 lb bag for $8.08 out the door (that was the cost last time I bought a bag a couple weeks ago).

What do you use crushed walnut shells for? I don't reload so I am not sure.

You put it in your tumbler or vibratory cleaner to clean the brass cases.

I read about that same trick years ago on rec.guns. I bought some cage liner (basically the crushed walnut shell) but never had to use it because the original stash I had from Dillon has been lasting forever!! I don't think it ever really needs to be changed, from what I can tell.

I was using reptile bedding (crushed walnut) that is sold at Petsmart and the stuff from the Magnolia Bird Farm is similar in size. The size of the granules is good for tumbling.

Thats a good price and will last a LOONG time. I try to buy the walnut stuff from Petsmart as its closer, but last time they were out so I tried the corn stuff.

Put some Flitz in the tumbler with the corn and the brass came out really shiny, even the insides. A plus is the corn comes in big particles so its easier for me to separate.
