    Guns you don't shoot

Do any of you ever look in your safe (or safes for some of you) and realize that over the decades you have acquired a bunch of guns you don't shoot?

    What do you do?

Sell or trade them to fill new interests.
I try to be more selective now, because in the past I got rid of some guns that I now regret.

my .380 Beretta Cheetah is about the only gun that doesn't get much range time...mainly because all my other guns are in 9mm and rotating them around come range time is simple

while I have tons of 9mm, not so much .380, and, some of that is actually HD ammo for it

        You shoot them!
If you don't, you have to ask yourself why. If they're rare, collectors, or have sentimental value, it gets tougher. Here comes the cool part....every time you take them from the safe and hold them, how do you feel? The strength of that feeling will help you decide whether to put them back in the safe, give them to a loved one, or trade them for something you want more. That whole process will ground you and remind you why you like guns in the first place. It's a good exercise that you should perform often.

None. They all have to work and I shoot them all.

Nope! If it's there I will take it with me.

So I was driving home from the range and I noticed that the scent of warm steel, burnt gunpowder and lukewarm coffee combined and smelled oddly of... Peanut butter?! Man, the Hoppe's is going to my head.

Nope...I don't blame anyone if thats what they like to do, but to me collecting without shooting firearms is like having a beautiful car collection but never driving them.

I have some rifles that I haven't shot in more than 20 years but I still want to keep them, they are great guns. I'm always working on the next project and the older guns get neglected. I'll get around to it one day.

I have a Savage 99E that I bought over 25 years ago that I've never shot. It was used when I bought it so I don't know why I've never shot it.

I look at them and admire them and then I make sure they're clean and then I handle the guns I shoot more often

I have all sorts of guns in don't shoot for various reasons. Mainly I can only shoot so often and when I do I can only take so many. When you get to the point where you leave more guns at home than take with you you will understand and I passed that point a long time ago.

I can see where you are coming from. I always try to change it up, but I always bring my model 28, Henry Lever action 22, and my 92f.
