    Firing Line or Target Range

Which one is better, in terms of air quality, cleanliness, and if everything is maintained well (meaning nothing is broken and falling apart), and friendly staff.

Been to both, both have great staff and cleanliness. Air quality probably have to go with target range.

I was once a member of both ranges and opted to keep my membership with Firing Line only. I go to the one in Burbank, which is very close to me.

I actually prefer Target Range's facility better. You can do double-taps, too. They also have a shop where you can buy guns and do PPT's. Parking is kind of tough but okay. They are within LA City limits so fingerprinting is required when buying ammo. They also have good instructors and the staff is nice. Their membership fee is not as expensive as Firing Line's but Firing Line offers 3 locations.

I have been to Firing Line in Northridge once. So-so experience. The staff was not as friendly. I don't care much for that range.

Burbank Firing Line staff is cool and very helpful and friendly. The regular shooters are very nice, too. I am lucky that range is close by to me, otherwise Target Range would be my go-to range.

      Hope this helps.

I was a member of both ranges and the Firing-Line is hands down superior. Target Range is horrible. I will not be renewing my membership there.

Firing-Line has locations in Burbank, Northridge, and Burbank and membership allows free access to all three. The air quality is superior to the Target Range. The vents actually work! I can barely breathe at the Target Range. After 2 mags, I have to leave the stall to get fresh air. Also, the lighting is dark there. Also, the AC doesn't work in the shooting area; only works in the lobby so the employees can be comfortable. I have to go out to the lobby to get fresh cold air every 5-10 minutes.

Besides their subpar facility, their range rules and employees are a pain in the neck.
For example, aluminum casing and hollow points aren't allowed in there. They went through my stuff like the TSA, as soon as I walked in.

Employee: Hi, what do you have in the bags? Can I see your ammo can please?

Me: sure, want to anal probe me too? (Nah, I didn't say that, but was thinking that.)

I told the guy I just had 9mm and 22LR caliber guns, but he ransacked my things nonetheless. Firing-Line asks also, because they only allow pistol calibers, but they're not that intrusive.

I took my HD pistol with a mag loaded with hollow points. I unloaded the mag and left the HP ammo in my pistol case so I could reload it to take home after I was done. While shooting, the employee comes and taps me on my shoulder and tells me that HP aren't allowed. I told him, I knew and I wasn't going to shoot them. I was planning to reload my HD mag after I was done. Nope, he took my ammo for safekeeping until I was done.

All the while calling me "boss" or "chief". Yes, some employees call me "sir", but that's annoying too. Their employees "insult respect" you; basically act like they're being respectful, but in actuality, they're being condescending. I don't get that kind of treatment at the Firing-Line.

I've used The Target Range for for three PPTs in the last year. Other than them insisting I buy a new lock each time it's been relatively painless. I've never shot there, but I've also never shot anything inside, just seems weird.

Bought reloads from target years ago. Every single one was bad, left a print on my memory.

I bought 2 firearms through the target range. I have had a positive experience every time I went there, but zero interest in shooting there. The range looked small and cramped and had a lot of renters. Something I'm not comfortable with.

My .02 i would drive out to one of the bigger outdoor ranges.

I can vouch for the Firing Line in Burbank. Had a membership before, probably will renew at one point later down the line. I can't speak for Target Range, but i've heard more good than bad. Will be visiting sometime soon since it's not too far from work.
