When watching a tv show or movie that has shooting in it, I just realized that I end up trying to figure out how much that gun battle just cost in ammo and then I wonder " is anyone picking up all that brass for reloading?" Maybe it's just me

It's Hollywood sound effects that get me. The pump action shotgun sound used for a rifle. Or my favorite, the cocking the hammer sound or disengage safety sound on a Glock. Makes me crazy.

I count to make sure they have only 10 round magazines if the show is based in California

What cracks me up is when someone racks the slide (mostly for effect) after having already been involved in a dicey situation in which they would have needed to fire. It's like, oh. You chose NOW to chamber a round?

I like how the bad guys never know how many rounds they fire, until that last click. Then they always throw the gun at the hero, and miss.

Maybe Hollywood bad guys need a rooster tail like my California M&P shield?

You must have a massive TV to get that kind of detail. How do you tell which brand it is? Amount of chew or ability to blow bubbles?

That is what I like ... racking the action ... thereby wasting one perfectly good round ... to show that you are truly serious about pointing that firearm.

Also ... the dearth of trigger discipline. Finger always on the trigger ... NO MATTER WHAT?

The best example of the lack of trigger discipline was when the John Travolta character blew that poor fellow's noggin to pieces because of the way he was wielding the firearm.

Believe it or not ... this type of discharge happens way too often in real life. Maybe most folks get their firearms training by watching Hollywood movies?
