Why any one would want a plastic gun is beyond me. I mean if I was to make one on my 3D printer just to say, look I made this and it worked to shoot a couple rounds then sure but to actually have a functioning weapon for any other use buying plastic and "trusting" it is just asinine IMHO.

About the pistol lower and California transfer, just buy an inexpensive pistol. I see an Olympic on Atlantic firearms right now for $900. If you don't like the parts sell the upper away and customize it to whatever you want.

Or build a quality aluminum lower at a CNC build party or use a decent manual mill. No drill press dremel nonsense.

Sorry, I should have clarified "rifle" plastic guns are fine... dont see them breaking all the time. Lower receivers should not be plastic.

You have a bunch of metal surrounding plastic, you don't see threads every other day saying, "I broke my aluminum receiver after 300 rounds or from dropping it"

It dosen't have the entire BCG and recoil system running through the lower of the gun with a tiny ring holding it all together............

I didn't over tighten the grip. Even if I did, the buffer tube region should have held up.

I bought it from Polymer80. It does feel similar to a glock polymer.

I thought Polymer80's big thing was that their lowers are designed/reinforced specifically to be made out of plastic, instead of copying the dimensions of a metal one and substituting plastic instead.

I'd have expected it to last longer.

yes the weak point is the top of the rear take down pin hole it needs to be redesigned they tried to reenforce that area but it was not enough

i guess some wings coming down from the buffer tower to in front of the top of the rear takedown pin

Did you talk to the Polymer80 guys. I believe there were some that were brittle from the first batch. You might have gotten one of those

Why get a polymer lower and have to constantly worry 'when' it will break when you could spend a couple extra dollars and get a metal lower?

Whats the point? The reduction of weight? The "coolness" factor? Im not trying to be a jerk but its beyond me that a person would buy a plastic lower that has the increased possibility of breaking just to save on weight and a few dollars?

Just buy a metal lower

Because you can use tools bought at Home Depot to build one. Not that I would anyway, since the thought of it breaking will always be in the back of my mind. The non-engineer in me also thinks that grinding the cavity out with Dremels, nail files, etc would just cause sharp stress risers and cracks contributing to eventual breakage.
