It would also make it harder for people with a work schedule. What...run to a Walmart hoping that you're luckily enough to be there at that time when ammo gets put out?
One viable solution is have Walmart steadily raise their prices on ammo weekly. At at point, it just becomes less profitable for the flippers. I would gladly pay Walmart $30-40 for a brick if that help put flippers out if business.Comment

i only get tula .223 from them, as its the only thing they sell thats comparable to internet prices
if i go to walmart im usually with my brother or something, so before we head to the ammo i tell whoever im with to buy whatever i buy and ill pay when we leave...rules be damned im not leaving with just 60 rndsComment

In the short run, prices are sticky. Meaning that even as demand begins to outstrip supply, retailers dont want to change prices because
1) It costs money to have to print out those stickers and pay someone to put them up
2) They have to pay someone to update prices in the computer
3) Loss of efficiency if a screw up happens due to prices changing so often
4) Nobody wants to raise prices first since its bad PR and the competitors will capture more market, at least until they also raise prices.Comment

When I go to Walmart I usually don't have anything specific in mind and simply buy what's available. Doing this has allowed me to add quite a nice bit to my existing ammo stash despite the frenzy.
Not sure what this has to do with guns though, as it seems more fitting to be an OT thread.Comment

What about Walmart just price their Fed 550 bricks for $40?
PR wise, I'd buy from Walmart at that price because 1) there might be ammo still on the shelves and 2) hoping that will take out the profit margin for flippers.Comment

No limit except on .22 ammo at the walmart in uplandComment

Ammo almost always comes in at night on the resupply truck, so simply stocking the shelves then won't affect anything unless they have also removed the "No ammo sales from 22:00 to 07:00" restriction.Comment

Just was at WalMart in Simi (Madera), they have "three boxes per person, per day" signs posted. Apparently all calibers, all box sizes. They did, however, have a lot of stock. Shelves were almost half full. Plenty of Tula 7.62x39 and relatively cheap .223. Didn't look for 22 lr as I don't shoot it.Comment

My local Walmart's (Irvine and Foothill Ranch) only had limits on .22 as of this weekend. They've had plenty of 223/556 for months, and often have Tula 7.62x39. It's still kind of tough to find any 9mm on the shelf though.. for that you have to get a bit lucky.Comment
