Experience with Red Army Ammo

Any calgunners here have any experience with Red Army Ammo? The particular ammo I'm looking at is the 7.62x39 made in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Do they produce good ammo? Do they shoot dirty/clean? Positive/negative experience with their ammo? Like to hear what you guys have to say. Thanks in advance for the comments.

Not trying to sound like a jerk but it probably shoots like 7.62x39. Meaning it's meant to be shot out of stamped soviet blocks of poo.

I'm just disappointed that their non magnetic x39 is so expensive :/

Century is importing this stuff and SGammo picked some up from them and is now selling too. There were some early issues with some having corrosive problems but they were recalled and dealt with. It's GTG now.

I like it. I specially like the romanian with the lacquer seal for long term storage. My x39 AR eats it up. I am a sucker for slick marketing too and they have got it going on. I'm not shooting long-range bench rest matches, it's a short range defensive rifle, so as long as the ammo feeds and fires reliably it will serve my needs and so far Red Army has met those requirements.

The Bosnian produced is non-magnetic copper jacketed, with a boxer primed brass case. So far I've seen it with a pink and a blue primer sealant. It is very similar to the Bulgarian produced ammo that Arsenal is selling (which usually has a green primer sealant). The price isn't bad for what it is at around $10/20. It is packaged the same as the Romanian and (I think ) Ukrainian steel cased magnetic projectile ammo they sell, but those of course have a lower price in line with other steel cased ammo.

If you reload or are in a restricted shooting area like most of SoCal, the brass ammo is competitively priced with PPU and a bt cheaper than Fiocchi. The brass reloads just fine, so save it (to reload or to sell) to offset the price a bit.

I think red army also makes a steel case ammo with a non magnetic bullet similar to the discontinued wolf yellow box 223/7.62x39 . I have yet to find it for sale yet though even though it is listed on their web site. I wish someone would start making commercial 7.62x39 reloads or a massive amount of yugo m67 is found and imported again.

By golly they do. I haven't seen it for sale anywhere - either at the range (that sells the steel case and the brass case, but will only let you shoot the brass cased) or online yet.

It would be terrific if they let it go for a price similar to the other steel cased rounds, unlike Hornady, who sticks their bullet in Tula cases and then charges almost $.75 round for it.

It feeds fine through my AR 7.62

More plinking brands in 7.62 helps keep the cost down.
